ISABELLA K. CANCINO
Isabella K. Cancino (1995) is a graphite artist who lives and creates her work in Riverside, CA. Being exposed to art and classic literature at a young age, Cancino began finding her artistic style in what became her obsession with drawing while aiming to embody a visual and classical feel just like some of her favorite illustrators and authors.
Cancino never studied art but taught herself with the same slow patience and care with which she makes each of her drawings. When creating her work, Isabella insists on sitting in a dark corner at her desk, surrounded by pencil shavings, sketches and some of her favorite books. She uses her characters to tell a continuous story that plays with personal emotions and lonely themes and narratives.
Cancino creates a body of work that she hopes both children and adults can relate to, sympathize with, and even laugh with at times.
